COULD YOU MAKE A&E DEPARTMENTS CALMER, SAFER AND MORE EFFICIENT?
Reducing violence and aggression in A&E by design
Violence and aggression towards frontline hospital staff is estimated to cost the NHS at least £69m a year. Last year 56,718 physical assaults took place in NHS hospitals in England, with the problem particularly difficult to address in the complex, high pressure environment of Accident and Emergency.
You could receive up to £150,000 to develop and test your solutions want designers to team up with industry suppliers to reduce the human and financial cost of violence and aggression towards NHS staff in A&E. We know A&E departments can be made calmer, safer and more efficient by design.
The Design Council and Department of Health are offering a fund of £150,000 and the chance to work with NHS staff on redesigning A&E environments, processes, services and information systems.
