We know it’s essential to demonstrate the value of design, which is why the South West Design Forum is developing a tool that could help Designers to significantly demonstrate results.

The RODI (return on design investment) Tool is an online app that strengthens the relationship between designers and their clients, and measures the effect of putting time and money into good design.

Using the RODI Tool is simple. Tell it what your client wants from their investment – like higher margins, loyal customers or better relationships with suppliers. Between your team and the client, feed the Tool with as much information as you can (such as facts, figures, or even video and audio clips). Then just watch the RODI Tool illustrate the impact your design work is having by reaching – or even exceeding – your client’s goals.

The RODI Tool promotes good design to clients, demonstrates the true value of your work, and encourages long-term and fruitful working partnerships. And the fact it’s simple and intuitive to use means neither you nor your clients will need any form of training to get started.

We’ve created a beta version that we’re asking some users to put through its paces. By doing this you can help us create an app that backs up every reason you’ve ever given clients for investing in design.
