Earlier in the year the Technology Strategy Board’s ‘New Designs for a Circular Economy’ funded 40 feasibility studies, undertaken by design and business partnerships, on the product life-cycle system. Building on this momentum, the TSB is investing up to £1.5m to encourage companies to rethink the design of products, components and/or services, with the potential to reduce their environmental impact.
The aim is to stimulate the development of a ‘circular economy,’ using materials which are designed to be used again, rather than ending up as waste. The competition opens on 29th July, and the deadline for applications is noon on 11th September.
